Plasterboard ceiling system is typically used for residential buildings due to the cost effectiveness, easy to install and aesthetically pleasant finish. Gypsum board is generally screwed into timber or steel frames forming the shape of the ceiling system. One of the key benefits of the plasterboard ceiling is the ability to conceal the wirings and services above the ceiling, while allowing adequate space to install insulation materials in the ceiling attics.
Insulates new and existing ceilings
For new construction, Thermalrock S40 laminated with a black tissue facing is designed to provide the acoustic performances for the plasterboard ceiling. Thermalrock S40 is made from volcanic stone with a melting point exceeding 1000ºC. This non-combustible insulation does not contribute to the spread of fire.
Insulating ceiling attics is a cost effective method, particularly for existing building where reinsulating the roof may be very costly.
